Who we are

Frank Wiener - founder

Frank was raised on Long Island, but embraced the Madisonian lifestyle after graduating from University of Wisconsin Law School. He practiced law at Wiener & Mandell, and envisioned an innovative court reporting method, a service that incorporated video recording and transcription into one company. In 1980, Magne-Script was founded after Frank was the first person to video-record a deposition without a stenographer present. In 1999, Frank was the first court reporter to upload transcripts to the internet. Magne-Script became Textnet: text on the internet. In 2005, Frank was the first court reporter to upload video depositions to the internet. Frank passed away in 2013, and his passion for billiards and video recording extends to his youngest daughter and current president of Textnet.
